Project Udaan is an initiative of Anahat For Change Foundation which seeks to make gender based violence and discrimination against young girls and women unacceptable and at the same time work on reducing the rate of child marriage by using a rights based participatory approach.
Project Udaan
GIRLS NOT BRIDES

Anahat reached out to 700 adolescent girls from 11-18 years of age in 24 villages covering 33 centres in 3 blocks of Murshidabad. Our community mobilizers create an environment of openness and trust where girls can seek support, learn about their rights and enable one another. Community awareness and sensitization sessions are conducted to make young girls understand that child marriage is a gross violation of human rights. If girls get married early several of their rights get violated such as right to education, sexual reproductive health rights etc.
