Woohoo! We have some splendid news: Anahat has added Orissa to its stable of intervention States.
We will be implementing our tried and tested model ‘Project Pehli Udaan’ in the Kalahandi district of Orissa, which works with adolescent girls and boys from marginalised communities. Through a year-long engagement with adolescent communities, Anahat will hold awareness and training sessions on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, menstrual health and gender sensitisation classes.
Through Project Pehli Udaan, Anahat will work with children in their formative years to shape attitudes before they solidify into abusive behaviour patterns and manifest as physical violence.
Additionally, we will also develop the technical skills and capacities of village healthcare workers, child protection committees, PRI members and others.
Shaktimayee Foundation is our implementation partner in the Kalahandi district of Orissa, whose members we will train to make reusable cloth pads under the Unnati brand.
